Five Presidents With No Birth Time on Record at All

Every other chart in this series has a time behind it, even a bad one: a memory, a rectification, a guess someone was willing to defend. These five presidents don’t. Astro-Databank rates each one X, its category for a birth with no time on record at all, only a date.

The five

A time does circulate for some of these online, most often for Cleveland, whose Astro-Databank listing itself flags a commonly quoted 11:32 AM as an astrologer’s speculation rather than sourced data. This post treats all five as what their actual record says: no time, full stop.

What a date alone can still show

I ran each of these five across the full twenty-four hours of their birth date at one-minute resolution in the site’s own engine, checking specifically whether the Incarnation Cross gates, the slowest-moving fact in any chart, hold steady across the whole day regardless of which hour a person was born.

For four of the five, they do:

• Jefferson: gates 42/32 personality, 61/62 design, unchanged at every minute of April 13, 1743
• Van Buren: gates 5/35 personality, 64/63 design, unchanged at every minute of December 5, 1782
• Pierce: gates 34/20 personality, 59/55 design, unchanged at every minute of November 23, 1804
• Buchanan: gates 27/28 personality, 41/31 design, unchanged at every minute of April 23, 1791

Grover Cleveland is the exception, and here is why. His personality Sun and Earth cross into new gates at 8:07 PM: from 36/6 before that minute to 25/46 after it. A day with no known time doesn’t just leave his Type and Profile unknown, the way it does for the other four. It leaves his Incarnation Cross itself undetermined, one of two real possibilities depending on which side of dinner he was born on.

What none of the five gives you

Type, Authority, Definition, and Profile all depend on faster-moving bodies, the Moon above all, and every one of them can turn over within a single day. With no time at all, none of those five layers is a fact about any of these five men. It’s a real gap, not a technicality, and it’s the plainest illustration in this series of what a Rodden X rating costs a reading: not fine detail, but the layers most people ask about first.

Gates computed against the in-house engine (src/lib/hd/chart.js, src/lib/hd/timezone.js) at one-minute resolution across the full birth date of each president listed. No cross-check against Maia Mechanics, Human Design Professional Software licensed from Jovian Archive, was possible for any of the five; Jefferson, Van Buren, and Buchanan predate its 1800 floor outright, and Maia Mechanics has no path for entering a birth with no time at all regardless of date.
