How this calculator works

Why birth time precision matters
A chart is only as accurate as the birth data behind it. The Moon moves through a gate roughly every 10 hours and through a line faster than that, so line details can shift within minutes. The Design calculation also depends on where the Sun was about 88 days before birth, so a time error can change channels, definition, and in edge cases Type.
- An exact time from a certificate is best.
- Hospital records or family notes help when a certificate is vague.
- If you only know a window, use the unknown-time path above rather than a guess.
- Type often holds across a few hours; lines and Profile details may not.

What the chart shows
The BodyGraph is a map of energy mechanics. These are the pieces most people read first:
Strategy
How you engage life with least resistance: respond, wait for recognition and invitation, inform, or wait a lunar cycle.
Authority
The signal you experiment with before a decision: the emotional wave, the Sacral response, the Spleen in the moment, and others.
Profile
The costume of your purpose: how you learn, relate, and mature (for example 1/3, 3/5, 5/1, 6/2).
Centers & definition
Defined centers run consistently; open centers take in others. Definition describes how your defined centers connect, as one circuit or more.
Gates & channels
Activated gates are specific themes. When both gates of a channel are activated, the channel is defined and it defines the two centers it joins.
Signature and Not-self theme are feedback signals: how alignment or misalignment tends to feel in practice. The Incarnation Cross is a later layer of purpose language, read once Strategy and Authority are lived.
Accurate bodygraph calculation versus diluted free tools
Search is full of free Human Design chart tools. Many are fine for curiosity. Fewer are built to support the experiment and the education that follows it. The differences are mechanical:
- Dual calculation. Personality at birth and Design from the 88-degree solar offset are both required for a complete BodyGraph.
- Ephemeris-based positions. Planets are computed for the exact instant, then mapped to the 64 gates of the mandala. A sun-sign shortcut cannot place a single gate.
- Strategy and Authority first. This site teaches Human Design as mechanics you live, and the first read above is limited to what a day-one experiment needs.
