Life Cycles Analysis

Jovian lists this as a certification transcript, and that is accurate: it is a 150-page ebook recording the four-part course Ra taught online to working analysts in June 2005, on how to analyze returns against a natal chart. Reading it gives you his method as he taught it in the classroom. It carries no certification on its own. In Level II it is the ebook I ask every student in the Life Cycles semester to get, because it is Ra's material and everything we practice in that semester traces back to it.

The four sessions each work through natal charts followed by return charts, and Ra changes the Type from day to day. The first two sessions cover the Solar Return, which he calls the Rave Return, using a single definition Manifestor and then a split Generator. The last two turn to the long cycles, the Saturn Return and the Kiron Return, first through triple-split Projectors and then through charts with a 6th line in the Profile, with the Uranus Opposition taken up in the question sessions and in the closing guidelines.

The core of the book is where Ra puts the difficulty. Running a cycle chart is simple; understanding the person is the hard part. Before reading any return, the analyst needs to see where this being is vulnerable to conditioning, because the not-self is what takes a cycle over. The Nodes are the working key to every cycle reading, the long cycles speak to purpose, and a cycle reading always brings the client back to the basics of their own design.

His timing guidance is precise. Ra describes each cycle point as the middle of a span of about seven years, three and a half years going in and three and a half across, so a cycle is read as a window running about 3.5 years before and 3.5 years after the exact date. The closing guidelines also set the Solar Return at about three months before the birthday, the same window our Life Cycles page recommends.
