In June 2005 Ra taught a four-part online training for working analysts on how to read two people together, and this ebook is the transcript of it, about 135 pages. It is the backbone of the first semester of Level II, where every class pairs with a partnership analysis assignment. Each session works through a pair of real charts in the same order: the first person's design, then the second's, and only then the connection chart between them.
That order is the lesson Ra keeps returning to. A connection reading rests on each person operating correctly as themselves, so he brings both people back to their own Type, Strategy and Authority before he says anything about the pair, and he treats the reading as a way to introduce them to the experiment. The mechanics come next: the four kinds of connection (electromagnetic, companionship, dominance and compromise), what splits do between two people, the nodal lines, and how the centers mix when two auras meet. He keeps pulling the analyst back to the surface of the chart, because the surface is where a couple can work directly and right away.
The later sessions turn to Type pairings and to professional conduct. Most connection readings are requested by one partner, the client is paying for help with a problem, and the analyst's job is to hold no fault and no blame while returning each person to their own authority. Ra frames the whole reading as a doorway to surrendering to who the other person is, and that is the part of this material I lean on hardest in class: you do your best to bring each person home to their individuality first, and then show them how they are designed to operate together.
My husband and I had our own partnership analysis when we were three years into our relationship, and it helped so much that I still tell students this reading serves couples who have been together a while. Reading the ebook carries no qualification to give these readings on its own. For Level II students it is the source method behind every assignment in the semester.
