Saturn to Kiron: Planting the Cross

Ra recorded a set of short video lectures on the stages of a life: Birth to Saturn, Saturn to Kiron, and Post Kiron. This is the middle one, a 30-minute video on the roughly twenty years between the Saturn Return around thirty and the Kiron Return around fifty. Ra spelled it Kiron; the site uses Chiron for the same return.

His premise is that a child raised correctly arrives at the Saturn Return ready to begin adulthood, and that the two decades after it are when the Incarnation Cross is planted: the years when a person's own purpose puts down roots long before anyone can see what it will become. Environment carries much of the weight here, what the right surroundings give each person and why they matter for developing unique awareness, which ties the video to the PHS and Rave Psychology layers of the chart.

That emphasis on place matches how I teach Incarnation Cross work. You need to understand the importance of place, because it is why a person has the resources they have. In a cross reading I track the Nodes by age: before the Uranus Opposition, somewhere between 38 and 44, a person is living mostly through the South Node environment, and after it through the North Node. The cross comes into its fullest view from the fifties on. The years this video covers are the years that planting happens, which can make them feel unfinished from the inside.

It fits between its neighbors without repeating them. Birth to Saturn covers the foundation of the first thirty years, and The Kiron Return follows the 6th line coming off the roof at fifty. Our Life Cycles page reads the Saturn Return as the opening of a span that runs through to the Chiron Return, and this is Ra on that span. Both ends are outer-planet cycles, each read as a window of about seven years, three and a half before and three and a half after the exact date, so the edges of this twenty-year stretch are wide and soft.
