Keynoting

Keynotes are word formulas: short phrases that name a genetic potential so it can be described to the person carrying it. Keynoting is the craft of choosing and linking them for one specific person, and it is the skill Analyst Training spends the most hours on. The IHDS outline for Level I names it as a goal of its own, alongside the 64 gates, the 384 lines and the Four Views.

This recording is a single audio lecture of about an hour and twenty minutes, and its subject is order. Ra takes the layers of a chart in sequence: Type and Strategy, then Definition, then Profile, then the Incarnation Cross, then the gates. Hearing the sequence from the source is the value for a Level I student, because the most common beginner reading is a list of parts with no spine, and a systematic order is what gives a reading one.

In Level I we build the skill in layers. First the keynotes themselves, learned well enough to say without looking. Then keynote weaving: stringing a person's defined channels together into a few sentences about what they are here to do, the exercise students know as Super-Hero Keynoting. From there we practice entering a chart through a hanging gate and through the open centers, and the later semesters add Profile keynoting and the conditioning of the Not-Self. Oral repetition runs through all of it, because a keynote has to come out in the flow of a reading while you watch the person in front of you.

Turning numbers and symbols into language stays the analyst's work at every level after this one. In Level II the same skill carries into connection charts and into cycles, where a keynote is built from the planet, the gate and line, and the kind of impact it has. An analyst who has the order in hand keeps it the whole way through, and this lecture is a compact place to learn it.
