The classic conditioning is avoiding confrontation and truth to keep the peace, becoming a chronic pleaser out of fear of triggering emotion. Healthy, it's an empathic screen that reads emotional weather with remarkable wisdom.

The Sun is in Gate 6, line 4. The Earth is in Gate 36, line 4.
Gate 6 is the membrane between people. It is the friction of contact, the emotional wall that decides who is let close and who waits outside, and it works on timing rather than on argument. Line 4 is the Opportunist, the line of the network, whose reach stops exactly where its circle stops. Put the two together and the wall has a door in it, and the door is a person. What passes through today passes because someone already inside vouched for it, mentioned it, or happened to be in the room when the subject came up.
Earth in 36.4 gives that its ground. Gate 36 is crisis and the untried experience, the thing nobody in the room has done before, and the fourth line meets it the way the fourth line meets everything, by turning to whoever is already near. New territory gets entered on a referral. The inexperience is real and the introduction is what makes it survivable.
Today’s traffic runs on existing lines. Warmth counts for more than credentials, and a single familiar name carries further than a well-built case sent to strangers. The same mechanism decides what gets refused: the barrier holds against anyone the network cannot place. Mercury in Gate 48 line 4 sharpens this, dressing depth into something sayable, and what it prepares is shaped by who is expected to hear it.
The usual misreading of this line is to call it favoritism and stop there. The 4 has its own integrity, and it runs on relationships that were actually tended, contacts kept up when nothing was being asked of them. Where the circle is real, influence moves cleanly through it. Where someone reaches for names they never maintained, the door stays shut and the friction of Gate 6 shows itself as awkwardness rather than opportunity. Saturn in Gate 21 line 4 adds the restraint that keeps the network from being worked too hard.
The wider field pulls toward appetite. The North Node in Gate 30 line 6 meets Pluto in Gate 41 line 2 and the transit defines 30-41 on its own, desire pressing for a new experience before anyone knows its shape. Mars in Gate 62 line 4 supplies raw fuel for untested thinking, Venus in Gate 28 line 3 weighs what a risk is worth, and Neptune in Gate 25 line 6 keeps some of the picture soft. Uranus in Gate 20 line 6 and the Moon in Gate 26 line 3 add sudden moves that want a network ready to catch them.
That is the program, not your life.
