Reflector

This is the Reflector lecture from Ra Uru Hu's Type series, one video of about half an hour, on the rarest Type: about 1 percent of people, with no defined centers at all. It lays the foundation for Reflector Reflections, the longer course reviewed on this page, and it is the lecture I would put in front of a Reflector who has just seen their chart.

The Reflector aura is resistant and sampling. It has none of the porousness of the Generator aura, none of the penetration of the Projector aura and none of the shield of the Manifestor. Things slide off it, the way food slides off a nonstick pan. What it does instead is sample: the Reflector takes in the people and the place around them and reflects them back, which is why a Reflector registers the health of a group before anyone else does. The question I give Reflectors is who is different?, and a Reflector in the right place is the one who can tell.

With nothing fixed inside, the one consistent influence is the Moon. The Strategy is to wait out a lunar cycle, about 28 days, before a major decision, talking it through with trusted people while the Moon moves through all 64 gates and the Reflector samples each kind of definition in turn. The Signature is surprise, the delight of being surprised by what life has to offer. The not-self theme is disappointment, which tends to follow a big decision made on someone else's timetable.

Environment carries more weight for this Type than for any other. The right place and the right people are part of the Strategy for a Reflector, and the family and partners around one help most by giving the decision its full month.

In my own teaching I name no kinds of Reflector underneath the Type, because I have not read enough Reflector charts to do it with confidence. For a Reflector, and for the family around one, this lecture is the place to start.
