Ra Uru Hu's Own Chart: How Good Is the Founder's Birth Data?

This series has spent five charts asking what a reading can honestly claim when the birth data is uncertain: Esther Hicks, Bob Marley, Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump as the one case with a birth certificate, and Hale Appleman as the first case with no time on record at all.

There is an obvious chart left, and it is the one the whole exercise points at. Human Design insists on an exact birth time. So how good is the birth data of the man who built it?

I should say that this is not a debunking exercise and it is not reverence either. Everything I teach is downstream of Ra, including this post. The question is only what his own numbers will bear.

The data

Ra Uru Hu was born Alan Robert Krakower on April 9, 1948, in Montreal.

Three birth times circulate. Jovian Archive gives 00:05. Two variants, 00:14 and 00:20, turn up elsewhere. All three are within a quarter of an hour of each other, just after midnight.

The provenance is self-reported rather than documentary. There is no birth certificate in circulation, which puts him below Trump on evidence and well above the other three. What he has is the founder’s own account of his own time, given consistently.

Three of four arrows hold

Run each of them and, on the surface chart, they are identical, and not approximately: the same type, profile, authority, definition, cross, centers, and channels. Every one of the twenty-six activations, Personality and Design, lands on the same Gate, Line, and Color at all three times.

That makes the surface chart the tightest data in this series. Trump has a document, but as I showed, his Motivation sits fourteen minutes from a boundary. Ra has no document and, on the surface chart, no boundary anywhere near him.

I also tested it against a one-hour timezone error, the classic way historical charts go wrong. Quebec’s daylight saving in 1948 did not begin until late April, so April 9 is Eastern Standard Time. Had someone applied summer time by mistake, the surface chart would not change.

Here are both ends of the range, run in Maia Mechanics, Human Design Professional Software licensed from Jovian Archive: the founder’s chart at 00:05, and the same chart run again at 00:20, fifteen minutes later.

Look for a difference and you will not find one. Every gate, every line, every color, every channel is identical between the two. That is real, and it is why the surface chart holds. It is also exactly why the claim needs one more layer of checking before you trust it, because a bodygraph this clean does not show you Tone at a glance, and Tone is where this pair actually splits.

The Variable is a different question, and it does not hold the same way.

The chart

He is a Manifestor, 5/1 profile, with splenic authority and single definition. Ajna, G, Heart, Spleen and Throat defined.

His incarnation cross is the Left Angle Cross of the Clarion, 51/57 | 61/62. A clarion is a call, and a left angle is transpersonal karma: a life aimed at others rather than at a personal destiny.

His Personality Sun is in Gate 51, Shock, in the Heart center, and he carries the 25-51 Channel of Initiation, where shock initiates spirit. The published account of how he received the system is an eight-day encounter he did not go looking for.

Five channels in total:

• 43-23 Structuring
• 25-51 Initiation
• 20-10 Awakening and 10-57 Perfected Form, both from the Integration Superchannel, which stands apart from the circuit groups rather than belonging to any of them
• 20-57 The Brainwave, which sits among the Integration gates but belongs to Individual Knowing rather than to Integration

He carries two of the three channeling channels

This is the finding, and it is the reason the series ends here.

Ra identified the 20-57 Brainwave as one of the two channeling channels, meaning a channel that tunes into something beyond. In my own work I have added two more: the 43-23, and the 30-41 Channel of Recognition in the collective abstract, which is the one I carry myself. The list is not comprehensive and is only what I have come to so far.

Ra Uru Hu carries two of those three, the 20-57 and the 43-23, at every candidate time. He does not carry the 30-41.

That is a more interesting result than a clean sweep would have been. The man who named the mechanism for tuning into something beyond had two of its three known forms running in his own bodygraph, and not the third, which is what you would expect of a real mechanic rather than a flattering one. If the founder’s chart had contained every channel on the list, I would want to check whether the list had been built backwards from his chart.

The three other charts in this series that carry the 43-23 carry one of the three. Trump carries none, which is why I flagged him: a pattern is only worth anything if you look at the charts that break it.

The one arrow that moves

The Variable reads the Tone underneath each Gate rather than the Gate itself: four arrows, drawn from Design Sun/Earth, Design Nodes, Personality Sun/Earth, and Personality Nodes, each landing Left on Tones 1 through 3 or Right on Tones 4 through 6. Three of Ra’s four arrows are as locked as the rest of the chart. Being: Design and Seeing: Design hold at Tone 2 across all three times. Seeing: Personality holds at Tone 4. The fourth does not.

Being: Personality, drawn from his Personality Sun and Earth, sits at Tone 3 at 00:05 and at 00:14, then crosses to Tone 4 at 00:20. That is a real boundary, and it sits inside the fifteen minutes this post is about. It also sits in the one place a boundary was always most likely to fall: Tones 1 and 2 are Splenic and both Left, Tones 5 and 6 are Solar Plexus and both Right, and only Tones 3 and 4, the Ajna pair, straddle the line itself. Tone 3 is Outer vision, keynote Action. Tone 4 is Inner vision, keynote Meditation. Ra’s Personality Sun sits in the one pair built to be crossed, and fifteen minutes of disagreement over his birth time is enough to cross it.

This arrow feeds his Motivation. The Color underneath it does not move: at every candidate time his Personality Sun is Gate 51 Line 5 Color 3, Desire, the same reading covered below. What changes is not what he is motivated by. It is whether that motivation runs Strategic, a proactive planning mind offered unprompted, or Receptive, a resource that only works when someone actually asks for it. That is precisely what a Motivation reading is for.

So the claim that nothing separates the three times does not survive. Something does, and it sits exactly where the method predicts it should: not in Color, which needs a birth time accurate to the hour, but in Tone, which needs one accurate to the minute.

The detail I could not use before

Esther Hicks’ chart gives a Color 3 Motivation of Desire, which on the lineage teaching of how the mind interprets the non-physical corresponds to ghosts, meaning disincarnate humans. I had to set that aside in her post, because her Color 3 holds for about four hours of a day whose time nobody sourced.

Ra’s chart gives the same Color 3. Motivation of Desire, the non-physical read as ghosts, and the Color 3 role of the Priest.

The difference is that his is stable at every candidate time and survives a timezone error. Where Esther’s version of this correspondence was the weakest thing in her chart, his is among the strongest things in his. Color is not Tone. The arrow above moves. This does not.

I am not going to tell you what that means. It is a mechanical correspondence in a system he transmitted, present in the transmitter, and it holds up to the checks. Make of it what your own authority makes of it.

What is actually soft

For completeness, because the point of this series is checking rather than admiring.

Type holds until 21:10 at night, when a Sacral channel completes and he would become a Manifesting Generator. Every candidate is twenty-one hours clear of that.

The cross never moves at any hour of the day.

Of the surface chart, Authority is the closest thing to a soft spot: Splenic until 06:20 in the morning, then emotional. All three candidates sit hours before that boundary, so it does not bite either. Nothing on the surface chart comes close to moving. The Variable, covered above, is the one place a boundary actually sits inside this data.

The point of the whole series

Six charts. An invented time, a disputed date, dirty data, a birth certificate, no time on record at all, and the founder’s own self-report.

The best data in the set belongs to the man who told everyone the time matters, and the surface chart is as clean as this series gets. It is not perfectly clean. Trump has the only document and still cannot safely read his own Variable. Ra has the best self-report in the set and cannot either. Fifteen minutes of disagreement over his birth time sits directly on top of the one pair of Tones built to be crossed.

Which is the argument, in the end. The mechanics are exact and the inputs rarely are, and the distance between those two things is where most confident public chart reading actually lives. Even the best data in a six-chart series has a seam once you look at the right layer. Your own chart, with a time you can check to the minute, will teach you more than any of these six.

What his cycles show

Ra’s natal cross, the Left Angle Cross of The Clarion, carried on a 5/1 profile, runs on a call sounded for other people to act on rather than a personal destiny built around himself. He died March 12, 2011, at 62, comfortably past all four life-cycle returns below.

• Saturn Return, 1976, age 28. Under the temporary Left Angle Cross of Wishes (50/3 | 31/41), he was three years into the Vice-President title he’d taken at Alpha Data Ltd in Victoria, British Columbia, the corporate rung that anchored the media career he spent the rest of the decade building.
• Uranus Opposition, December 1986, age 38. Under the Juxtaposition Cross of Ideas (11/12 | 46/25), a little over two weeks later he sat down for the eight-day encounter he called the Voice, the January 1987 transmission that became the Human Design System.
• Chiron Return, November 1998, age 50. Under the Right Angle Cross of Contagion (14/8 | 29/30), he founded Jovian Archive the following year, the company built to carry his recorded teaching forward.
• Second Saturn Return, August 2006, age 58. Under the Right Angle Cross of Explanation (4/49 | 23/43), he opened Bhan Tugh that fall, the first course in the Rave Cosmology series, his most in-depth body of teaching.
